Residents are never bored, being so close to many outdoor amenities and attractions. On a nice day, you will often find people arm in arm, strolling through the nearby Lacey Woods Park. This 14-acre park features a playground, basketball courts and a multi-use field, perfect for kids to run around and blow off some steam. Or, if you want to have a good old-fashioned cookout, the park is also equipped with a cool and shady picnic shelter and charcoal grill. The park’s nature trails and wooded areas provide the perfect opportunity to escape from the urban noise and simply enjoy the great outdoors.
People also gather from all around to check out the DEA Museum, an intriguing learning environment where visitors can discover the role of the federal drug law enforcement. The many interactive stations and education outreach programs offer a unique experience for every visitor.
Traveling Around Waycroft
Getting around the neighborhood and to surrounding areas is simple for Waycroft residents. The Ballston Metro station is right outside the neighborhood’s borders, making it easy to commute to Washington, DC and other major points. Arlington Transit also provides cross-county bus routes, another convenient way of getting around. Many residents also rely on driving their own cars, making use of the many nearby major roads like I-66 and North Glebe Road/Route 237.
